Article 997. Satisfaction of the requirements of the commission agent from the amounts due to the committent.

The commission agent is entitled, in accordance with Article 410 of this Code, to withhold amounts due to him under the commission agreement from all amounts received to him at the expense of the committent. However, the creditor’s creditors, who have priority over the mortgagees in relation to the priority of satisfaction of their claims, are not deprived of the right to satisfy these claims from the amounts withheld by the commission agent.
